Background
About Vanessa Salerno
Hello, I'm Vanessa, and it would be an absolute privilege to support you throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey.
Every birth is unique, and every family deserves care that is personalised, evidence-based and centred around their individual needs, values and goals. Together, we will create a birth experience that empowers you with knowledge, confidence and genuine support, ensuring you feel informed, respected and cared for every step of the way.
With more than 20 years of experience in the medical industry, including extensive experience in fertility and IVF, I bring a unique blend of clinical understanding and compassionate, continuous support. Having attended more than 200 births, I understand that birth is not simply about bringing a baby into the world. It is about caring for the mother, her partner and the family as they transition into one of life's most significant moments.
My role is to provide unwavering support throughout labour and birth. From comprehensive birth education and personalised birth planning to practical comfort techniques, emotional reassurance and advocacy, I work alongside your chosen care provider to help you feel safe, calm and confident throughout your experience.
I believe every woman deserves the opportunity to make informed decisions about her birth without fear, judgement or the influence of others' experiences. My approach is grounded in evidence, respect and collaboration, helping you navigate your options with confidence while honouring the birth that feels right for you.
As a mother of two beautiful daughters, I also understand birth from a deeply personal perspective. My own experiences inspired me to become a doula and continue to shape the care I provide every family.
Alongside my work as a birth and postpartum doula, I am the Practice Manager for Dr Joseph Sgroi and work closely with Dr Marcus Davenport, supporting women through fertility, pregnancy and birth while helping to create a collaborative model of obstetric care that combines medical excellence with genuine continuity of support.
Supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester is more than my profession. It is my passion, and an honour I never take for granted.
