Start by telling us what you want: choose the service or the practitioner and we will take you to the right place. Some of our practitioners book online, at any hour of the day. Others keep their diaries at the clinic and take their bookings by phone, and the booking window will tell you which. If you'd rather speak to a person, or you're not sure who to see, call (03) 9416 1586 during consulting hours and we'll take it from there.
Before you book
Do you need a referral? For our medical specialists in obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility, a referral from your GP is the usual first step and gives us your history before you arrive. Our allied practitioners, including physiotherapy, psychology, naturopathy, Chinese medicine, doula support and nursing services, can generally be seen without one. If you're unsure, call and ask; we won't send you away over paperwork.
How long will it take? Initial consultations are longer than follow-ups, because the first conversation matters most. We will tell you how long to allow when the appointment is made.
What will it cost? Fees depend on which practitioner you see and what the appointment involves. Our team will talk you through the costs for your situation before anything is confirmed, so there are no surprises on the day.
What to bring
- Your referral, if you have one
- Any recent test results, scans or reports, even if you think we already have them
- A list of any medications and supplements you take, including doses
- Rough dates for your last few cycles, if that's relevant
- Your questions, written down. Appointments go faster than you expect
On the day
Arrive a few minutes early so we can settle you in without rushing. You're welcome to bring your partner, a friend or a support person, and children are welcome too, though for longer consultations you may find it easier to have someone mind them.
Our rooms are at Suite 8, Level 7, 36 Wellington Street, Collingwood, near Smith Street. If mobility, an interpreter or anything else would make the visit easier, tell us when you book and we'll arrange it quietly in advance.
After your appointment
You'll leave knowing what happens next: what's being tested, what we're waiting on, and when we'll see you again. If tests are ordered, we'll explain how and when you'll get the results, and who will talk you through them.
If someone else in the building can help, whether a physiotherapist, a psychologist or a naturopath, we'll say so, and you're free to take that up or not. It's an offer, not a package.
Changing or cancelling
Life happens. Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to move an appointment, so we can offer the time to someone else who's waiting. Cancellation terms are set out when the appointment is made.
If it's urgent
We are not an emergency service. If you're experiencing severe pain, heavy bleeding, reduced fetal movements or any symptom that frightens you, contact your GP, your birthing hospital, or call 000 immediately. Existing obstetric patients will have been given after-hours contact details. Use them; that's what they're for.
